PARKER "51" vacumatic trade-in pen.  One of Parker's gimmicks to increase the sales of the Parker 51.  You could bring any old Parker pen towards the trade of new "51".  Sticker on the pen states "Here's my pen for your retirement offer".  Vacumatic is complete except for the nib and feed, which Parker removed to scrap.  Great piece of ephemera.  $150SOLD

PARKER "51" vacumatic in cordovan brown with unique gold filled cap.  Cap has a lined pattern and a cap band of applied lines.  Cap band lines are over the gold filled and Made in USA imprints.  Pen is dated 1947.  As found in the wild, indicates that it is Parker production.  Really good looking cap with no dents or dings.  Unique piece.  $850SOLD

 

XF14. PARKER "51" aerometric in Burgundy with Lustraloy cap in original box.  Nice clean cap with 90% original finish.  "Special" filler sleeve, but has pearl jewel and 14k medium nib, as is common on late production 51s.  Completely restored and working, $150 

 

XF15. PARKER "51" vacumatic Demi set in cedar blue with lustraloy caps and original box.  Set is very clean with no dents or dings.  Made for only 2 years.  Pen is dated 1947.  Fine 14k nib.  Completely restored and working, $125

PARKER "51" set of original polishing tools.  From the estate of a retired Parker employee.  Handles are made of original 51 black lucite barrels.  Handles were used by repairmen to hold either the hoods or barrels while polishing.  The top tool holds the hood.  The next 2 tools are for polishing full size and demi size aerometric barrels.  $325SOLD

PARKER "51" vacumatic unfinished barrel from a retired Parker employee that worked at Parker from 1946-1949.  2 hoods in unifished, uncut state.  One blindcap that is not turned down to its final size and a rough finished barrel that has not been completely turned and is thicker than a finished 51 with a very pointy blindcap has not been completely shaped.  A stunning piece of Parker history, $225

 

XF20. PARKER "51" vacumatic new old stock parts in aerometric Navy Gray.  In the 1950s, Parker was still repairing old vacumatic 51s and when it ran out of the proper Dove Gray plastic of the vacumatic, replacement parts were made using the aerometric plastic stock.  The same was done for the Cordovan Brown vacumatic plastic, but in Burgundy and they are very rare.  This barrel is from a parts stock of a closed down repair shop.  Vacumatic filler is still pliable.  Cannot be returned if filled or dipped.   $300

PARKER "51" shipping box.  This is how Parker shipped their 51s pens and pencils to the stores.  You could see the contents through the cut-outs and needed to verify the count before opening it.  This box was used to ship aerometric-era pencils as it was found with 2 pencils still in it.  It is empty now, $50SOLD
