NG99. PARKER "51" vacumatic Double Jewel "First Year" in Black with smooth gold filled cap.  A truely rare Parker "51".  This cap is seldom seen and a lot of collectors do not know it exists.  In my years of collecting I have only seen a handful (and only 1 pencil).  The cap is smooth gold filled with two lines making the "band".  These caps were originally brushed, leaving the band shinny and then the whole cap was lacquered.  This finish did not stand up to wear well and most are found with an overall shinny gold filled finish, which does no justice to the original intent of this cap.  This particular cap was in great shape with no dents or dings, but the original finish worn.  The cap has been re-frosted by Brad Torelli to the original finish.  It is stunning.  The cap has the correct high placement imprint, first year clip and aluminum jewel.  The barrel is correct first year with the blindcap imprint and aluminum jewel.  It will be a long time before you find this cap again,  $2,200SOLD

TT151. PARKER "51" vacumatic Double Jewel SET in Black with solid 14k gold "fishscale" caps.  In my opinion, these caps are harder to find than the Empire Solid gold caps and have an understated elegance to them.  Both clips, caps, tassie ring and pencil cone are marked 14k.  The imprint on the pen is crisp, dated 1946 with a nice, original two-tone clutch ring.  Shaft on pencil has gold wash.  The caps on both the pen and pencil are clean, with no dents or dings.  A really stunning set and a centerpiece of the more advanced "51" collection.  Medium 14k nib.  Completely restored and working, $2,500SOLD
